Sunflower Childcare Group

Where Imagination Grows

The Sunflower Childcare Group’s is a collection of family-owned day nurseries in Tameside. Founded by CEO Elaine Sagar, our goal is to provide flexible care and support for families. Owned and managed by dedicated mums, we prioritise exceptional care, innovation, and education for each unique child. Our commitment is to ensure the best start in early years, from birth to school and beyond.

At Sunflower, we take pride in our commitment to sustainability by operating as a paperless nursery. We have implemented a transparent communication system that empowers parents to effortlessly access their child’s learning journey at any time. Throughout the day, parents receive real-time electronic updates, allowing them to stay intimately connected with their child’s activities and treasure every precious moment.

TESTIMONIALS

My little girl really enjoys nursery. All the staff are very kind caring helpful and supportive.  Daily connect is the best to keep in touch seeing my little girl doing activities and playing.  They have lots of things to take home and do together they offer lending library to encourage reading at home.   The nursery is very welcoming and safe for children. A very supportive SENCO.  My little boy left in July to start school and he needed lots of support in the nursery and to help him transition to school nothing was any trouble this nursery is fantastic.

My daughter has been going to Sunflower Stalybridge for about four months now. She loves it.  The staff are lovely. Very informative, caring, very focused on child development and learning. And they are super-efficient when it comes to the online app they use to update child info and pictures.  It’s a modern, clean and bright nursery with great outdoor facilities.  Having viewed quite a few nurseries in the area, it’s up there with the best.

Staff are always friendly, and they have varied activities to engage my daughter, which makes things interesting and educational for her. They have been able to accommodate a vegetarian diet and have been using the Speech and Language Therapy guidance to help my daughter who has Down Syndrome to progress,
which has been great, as well as now training staff members in Makaton – this will be extremely useful not just for my daughter, but for any child, as it has been shown that using signs can help all children to speak earlier, not to mention the benefit of making it easier for my daughter to communicate with her peers in future if needed. The nursery also uses an app enabling me and my partner the ability to see what our daughter has been doing during the day, which is lovely.

My son attended The Sunflower Children’s Centre until he started school, and my daughter started at The Sunflower Children’s Centre in November 2019 at the age of 14 months and she is now in Pre-school. I can honestly say that there is no one else I would trust to look after her – the staff are amazing.
They are so professional, yet all of their wonderful personalities shine through and they are so warm and nurturing. My daughter loves coming to nursery – she loves all of the ladies who look after her and especially sports and forest school! The provision is excellent and the team are busy helping to prepare her for school in September, but also ensuring she has lots of fun. All of the staff are friendly and cheerful – not just the nursery teachers, but admin staff too – everyone goes above and beyond. The parents’ and carers’ free sessions such as paediatric First Aid are such a kind and supportive idea. My daughter has blossomed here and it is an honour for her to be at The Sunflower Children’s Centre, Hyde.

My child started Sunflower Stalybridge in March, and he loves attending. The staff are very welcoming and are always providing exciting activities to help with his learning. The communication is brilliant with daily handovers, and the daily connect app, which we love, as it gives us an insight to his nursery day. He has come on leaps and bounds since starting nursery.
